(A) Baitiangong followers must get rid of superstitions [01:06 – 04:30]
  1. Xian Sheng has always advocated that followers go to the doctors if they have any illnesses. They should not rely on meditation every time to heal themselves.
  2. If they have exhausted all possible medical treatments, then they may consider seeking spiritual help.
  3. Xian Sheng wanted people to change by eliminating superstition.
  4. In the past, it was common for the Chinese to seek out deities for even the slightest sign of illness, including illnesses affecting their children, in the hope of finding a quick cure.
  5. Xian Sheng asked if the followers are aware that 乩童 (spirit medium) would naturally tell the parents that their children are sick because they offended their ancestors.
  6. Xian Sheng expressed his displeasure with the spirit mediums for deceiving the parents. He recounted an incident when he was very young where he witnessed some children playing near an altar table and accidentally bumping into it. As the ancestral tablet was positioned high up and out of their reach, the children could not have offended it. However, the spirit mediums claimed that the children had offended the ancestors.
  7. The children have to undergo some ritualistic purification for offending their ancestors.
  8. Xian Sheng rubbished their claims and stated that if your departed father is so easily offended by your children and their grandchildren and punishes them by making them sick, then your departed father is good for nothing.
  9. To clarify his argument, Xian Sheng asked if anyone would want to keep the ancestral tablet of their departed father if it made their children feverish.
  10. Xian Sheng stated that if that were to happen to him, he would not only chastise his departed father for daring to harm his children, he would throw his ancestral tablet out of the house.
  11. Xian Sheng asked if the ancestral tablet deserved to be thrown out just for that reason alone – for making their grandchildren sick because of being offended.
  12. Xian Sheng presented this parable to demonstrate that followers must change and eliminate all forms of superstitions.
  13. Baitiangong followers must get rid of their superstitions. They have to show others that they are not superstitious through their actions and behaviour.
  14. If someone were to tell them of an omnipotent deity that can cure all their illness, they should ignore it and not pursue it.
  15. Xian Sheng gave the example of Bro KD Wong’s wife. Prior to her joining Baitiangong, she already has a pre-existing illness.
  16. Xian Sheng knew about her pre-existing illness when she came for meditation.
  17. Xian Sheng explained that he helped to ease her of the illness that she had endured for almost twenty years.
  18. However, her illness resurfaced once again. He asked Bro KC Wong, the brother of KD Wong to verify this.
  19. According to Xian Sheng, the reason was due to her leaving Baitiangong to patronise an omnipotent Guan Yin deity that someone suggested to her.
  20. However, she died shortly after patronising the Guan Yin deity.
  21. Xian Sheng reassured the followers that the incident was genuine and not a parable.
  22. Xian Sheng said that she could have lived longer had she not seen the Guan Yin deity or taken the lingzhi that Bro KC Wong is promoting.
  23. Bro KC Wong replied that he had not yet started promoting lingzhi at that time. Nevertheless, Xian Sheng said that lingzhi could have helped her. But she chose to patronise the Guan Yin deity which resulted in her untimely demise.
  24. Xian Sheng urged the followers to truly change themselves. The incident with Bro KD Wong’s wife should serve as a reminder that followers should not say they changed but immediately turn back to worshipping deities if someone suggested to them that it is omnipotent.
(B) Do not pray for four-digit numbers [04:30 – 09:26]
  1. Xian Sheng stated that some followers like to request four-digit numbers during their daily prayers. He discourages them from doing so.
  2. However, he provided an avenue for them to do so during the Sunday morning meditation.
  3. In the meditation that starts at 7:00 am, Xian Sheng allowed the followers to request anything they like, whether it is to request four-digit numbers or prosperity. However, they would need to practise an advanced form of meditation, i.e. silent meditation.
  4. Xian Sheng asked those who attended the silent meditation to attest to what he stated.
  5. Xian Sheng permitted the followers to make such requests during morning meditation, although he discouraged them from doing so in their daily prayers, as he wanted to observe their responses to both success and failure in obtaining their requests. What would they do with their winnings?
  6. The followers can also request to see Heaven or Hell.
  7. Xian Sheng reminded the followers that they must not think about their request once they close their eyes and start their meditation. He does not want them to start imagining as that would defeat the purpose of their meditation.
  8. If they think of their lucky numbers, a sequence of four-digit numbers may manifest in their imagination, confusing them as to which one is real. All the numbers would be false as they are the result of their imagination.
  9. Xian Sheng summarised stating that they can request anything during the silent meditation but they should not think about it during meditation.
  10. Xian Sheng recapped the conditions that he had laid out for Sunday silent meditation back in early January:
    1. Children are not permitted to attend.
    2. Each follower must sit on their own individual mat and not share mats with others. The outstretched hands of adjacent individuals should not touch each other.
    3. Individuals who are closely related, such as husband and wife, siblings, parents and adult offspring, relatives and in-laws should not sit next to each other.
    4. The conditions would be similar to the Spiritual Retreat meditations during the early years where the son would refer to his mother as an elder sister, while the mother refer to her son as an elder brother.
  11. The reason why they address each other as brother and sister instead of mother and son is due to reincarnation.
  12. The son could be his mother’s ancestor from his previous life. The mother could be her son’s descendant from her previous life.
  13. The son could have reincarnated a hundred times, perhaps a thousand times, while the mother only reincarnated five hundred times.
  14. The mother would never know whether her son is her descendant or her ancestor. When it comes to the soul, the mother may not necessarily have reincarnated more times than her son.
  15. Similarly, the son also undergoes reincarnation and could have reincarnated more times than the mother.
  16. When we talk about age, in terms of the soul, neither the son nor the father is older than the other.1
  17. Xian Sheng started this advanced form of silent meditation at the beginning of the year 2000.
  18. If anyone would like to participate in silent meditation, they must ‘be on time’ as the gates would be promptly locked at 7:00 am. Baitiangong followers have to learn to observe discipline.
  19. In order to ‘be on time’, followers must arrive at 6:55 am so that they can clear their bowels before they start meditation. Conveniently located toilets are available for this purpose. Xian Sheng does not want followers to stand up and walk to the toilet during the meditation session, as this would disturb others who are meditating.
  20. During the entire silent meditation session, followers are expected to remain seated at their designated spot, even after they have completed their meditation. They should recite prayers into their hands while remaining seated.
  21. Silent meditation begins only after Xian Sheng has delivered his sermon. The starting time will be noted and all followers are expected to remain seated for a minimum of half an hour.
  22. After completing their meditation, followers are not permitted to stand up, walk around, or speak. This form of silent meditation requires strict discipline, and those who wish to participate are expected to comply with these guidelines.
(C) How can you preach if you don’t want to learn? [09:30 – 12:25]
  1. Xian Sheng requested more followers to participate in the upcoming Annual Spiritual Discussion in December at Genting Highlands.
  2. He suggested that they begin saving RM210 to cover the expenses for the 3D2N function. He stated that it wouldn’t be difficult if they started setting aside a portion of their income each month over the next few months.
  3. Ideally, parents can begin saving money for their children and encourage them to participate in this discussion. If they have financial difficulty, they could take turns attending the ASD. However, Xian Sheng expressed that saving RM210 should not be too difficult.
  4. Although Xian Sheng thinks that paying RM210 for 3D2N at Genting Highlands is not very expensive, he asked if the organisers can look for a cheaper alternative.
  5. Regardless, Xian Sheng stressed that we must try to participate and we must encourage our children to participate so that everyone can increase their knowledge of Baitiangong.
  6. Xian Sheng stressed that there is a lot of important information that we need to learn about Baitiangong. We would have to learn them before we can start to preach effectively.
  7. Xian Sheng: How can you preach if you don’t want to learn?
  8. Xian Sheng expressed that one of the most crucial pieces of information we must know when we preach is about the founder of the spiritual movement. If someone were to ask us and we are unable to answer them, Xian Sheng said that he is at a loss for words.
(D) The followers need to learn about Xian Sheng’s history [12:25 – 16:18]
  1. Xian Sheng informed the followers that he has undergone numerous trials and tribulations in his life.
  2. The youth should emulate his persistence and determination.
  3. Xian Sheng left Anglo Chinese School Ipoh in 1955 with an Overseas School Certificate (replaced with MCE in 1967), but due to a lack of money, he was unable to further his secondary education.
  4. Xian Sheng finally obtained his Higher School Certificate in 1962 (replaced by STPM in 1982). It took him seven years of working in the private sector to save enough money to pursue his secondary education.
  5. Xian Sheng wanted to continue his studies in law and tried to borrow money from both of his elder brothers. However, his eldest brother was only able to lend him a small amount, while his second elder brother was unable to lend him any money at all. His hopes to pursue his studies in law seemed bleak.
  6. Xian Sheng attempted to borrow money from his friend, but his friend was unable to lend him any money. He was dumbfounded when his friend referred him to a relative who had recently been involved in a car accident, which left him paralysed from his neck to his feet.
  7. In the past, Xian Sheng had helped a group of politicians namely Lim Keng Yaik, Tan Tiong Hong and the late Alex Lee. He helped Alex Lee at the request of Alex’s elder brother. He proposed to mortgage his land to them so that they could borrow money from the bank. The endeavour was unsuccessful.
  8. In his final attempt to borrow money to study law, Xian Sheng proposed to his wife to purchase his land by borrowing money from the government. However, this idea was also unsuccessful.
  9. Despite graduating earlier in 1962, his plans to pursue his tertiary education had to be put on hold until 1969. In May 1969, Xian Sheng was finally able to study at the University of Malaya with funding from the Government. He finally completed his studies and graduated with a Diploma in Public Administration.
  10. It took seven years (1955 – 1962) plus another seven years (1962 – 1969) from leaving school to completing his tertiary education. The present generation of youth is so fortunate as they are able to continue their tertiary education immediately after leaving school.
  11. In contrast to the present youth, Xian Sheng did not have the financial resources to further his education. He had to fund his own education through hard work, as there was no one to support him financially.
  12. Xian Sheng emphasised to the followers the importance of knowing the details of his past history.
  13. Xian Sheng updated the followers on his past involvement in various organisations and communities by providing a curriculum vitae detailing the notable positions he held. Some of these positions include:
    1. Lieutenant in the Federal Volunteer Force.
    2. Member of an anti-drug committee in Selayang where he participated in the arrest of several drug addicts.
    3. Secretary and subsequently Chairman of the Rukun Tetangga (Neighborhood Watch Groups).
    4. Vice Principal at Tong Institute.
    5. Group Manager in several companies in Sarawak.

Note that Xian Sheng did not mention the numerous positions he held related to his teaching profession.
  14. Xian Sheng asked the followers how they would respond to questions regarding his past if they are not aware of them. It is therefore imperative that the followers know and learns about his past.
  15. Xian Sheng indicated a list of questionnaires regarding his past that many followers were unable to answer.
  16. If someone were to ask them about Xian Sheng’s alleged involvement in sexual scandals as reported by some Chinese newspapers, would they be able to refer to the newspapers that published our court case victories and the amount that the defamers had to pay as compensation for spreading fake news?
  17. Xian Sheng expressed his disappointment that many followers are not informed about his past.
  18. How would they be able to preach Baitiangong? How would they be able to develop Baitiangong?
  19. The followers need to change and learn to increase their knowledge about Baitiangong. They must attend the Annual Spiritual Discussion at Genting Highlands to learn.
  20. They should keep the materials they obtained from these lessons in a proper folder, rather than scattered around their homes.
  21. During their free time, it would be beneficial for them to revise the materials they have received to hone their knowledge, which will enable them to preach more effectively.
  1. Time in Hell does not flow linearly as it does on Earth. From the perspective of someone on Earth, time in Hell seems to move more slowly. For instance, a year in Hell could feel like only a month on Earth. Moreover, there are countless dimensions of Hell, each with its own unique time flow, that caters to the different sins committed on Earth. The duration of punishment also differs based on the severity of one's sins, which further complicates the determination of one's age. As a result, the age of a soul can fluctuate in Hell, making neither the father nor the son older than the other.
