(A) The dead are unaware that they are dead.
  1. Xian Sheng said that some deceased people are not aware that they have died. He referred to the film “The Sixth Sense,” where Dr. Malcolm is initially unaware of his own death. However, towards the end of the movie, Dr. Malcolm finally realises that he is also a deceased person who did not realise he had died.
  2. Xian Sheng emphasised that “The Sixth Sense” is a new movie (released in 1999, and therefore relatively recent as this discussion took place in March 2000). However, Xian Sheng had already informed the followers way back in 1976 about deceased individuals not being aware that they had died.
  3. The fact that Western media came up with this concept for a movie proves that they also received the consciousness to realise this phenomenon. Perhaps people in Western countries encountered such phenomena as well, and the feedback from those involved enabled them to produce this film.
  4. Xian Sheng asked if the followers believed in such phenomena and confirmed that they were indeed real. This is one reason why he requests followers attending the obsequies to take turns praying for the deceased continuously. It is important for the deceased to see them praying and to kneel down and pray with them. By doing this early in the obsequies, the deceased would realise they have passed away and move on more quickly. Otherwise, they would not know that they have died.
  5. There are individuals who can see dead people. However, they do not dare to tell others about what they have seen, fearing they would be labelled as crazy.
  6. In the movie, the teacher calls the boy who can see deceased people a freak. A freak is an abnormal person. Although the teacher thinks the boy is abnormal, Xian Sheng said the boy is perfectly normal. However, the vibration of his eyes allows him to see people who have passed away.
  7. Nevertheless, the boy is frightened by what he sees as he is still young. In the movie, Dr. Malcolm confides in the boy, giving him the courage to express what he saw. Xian Sheng added that a psychologist may not be able to help everyone who shares the boy’s symptoms.
  8. On a separate issue, Xian Sheng enquired whether the followers think that individuals who want to commit suicide or murder feel fear when committing the act. Nevertheless, Xian Sheng acknowledges that we will not know the feeling as we do not have the experience.
(B) The devil works through a third party to tempt an individual.
  1. Xian Sheng explained that the incident related by Sister Chan Chin Ming was a case of illusion because the lady was taking sleeping pills. Nevertheless, the devil did play a role in this incident.
  2. Sister Chan Chin Ming explained that the lady was initially taking sleeping pills to help her sleep. Somehow, she unknowingly took an entire bottle of sleeping pills. Her husband took her to the General Hospital to undergo gastric lavage or stomach pumping.
  3. After the gastric lavage procedure, the lady had to stay at the hospital for a few days to recover. Sister Chan Chin Ming continued to explain that the lady was awakened by someone calling her. However, when she woke up, she found herself in a luxurious house instead of the General Hospital. The lady walked to what she described as the roof of the house and saw a very comfortable bed at the bottom. She was tempted to jump down onto the bed to sleep on it.
  4. Xian Sheng explained that the hallucination described by Sister Chan Chin Ming is similar to what many drug addicts experience. Although the lady underwent gastric lavage to remove the excess sleeping pills, some active ingredients (drugs) had entered her bloodstream and travelled to her brain, causing her to hallucinate the illusion of the house.
  5. Xian Sheng once interrogated a Malay student about why he smoked cocaine. The student explained that he wanted to ride a motorcycle, but his father refused to buy him one. After smoking cocaine, he had so much fun riding a motorcycle with a naked girl hugging him from the pillion seat. However, it was all just an illusion.
  6. Xian Sheng said that many drug addicts who survived jumping off a building thought they could fly like Superman. Some even believed they were Superman and jumped off a building. It is all an illusion caused by the drugs in the cocaine. Sleeping pills are also a type of drug.
  7. Once the drugs have entered her bloodstream, pumping her stomach to remove the remaining sleeping pills will have little effect in preventing the drugs from travelling to her brain. This caused her to see an illusion of a comfortable bed, fuelling her desire to jump onto it.
  8. This is also a form of temptation by the devil. Referring back to the case of the Malay student, he was tempted by a third party to smoke cocaine.
  9. The devil works through a third party to tempt an individual to start smoking cigarettes, eventually leading them to smoke cocaine and ultimately become drug addicts.
(C) Can we see the souls of the deceased?
  1. The movie “The Sixth Sense” primarily focuses on souls. It demonstrates that Westerners also believe in souls, particularly those that remain on the plane of Earth after death. The boy in the film could see these souls due to the vibrational frequency of his eyes.
  2. Xian Sheng posed a question that elicited laughter from the followers: “When can ordinary people like you see them too?”
  3. When a person is feverish, the vibrational frequency of their eyes may change, enabling them to see things that people with normal vision are unable to see.
  4. When an old person is close to death, they might see apparitions as they could glimpse into another dimension. Sometimes, they claim to see their deceased relatives waiting for them and encouraging them to walk towards them. Xian Sheng explained that these apparitions are not their dead relatives but take on their appearance to ease their fears of crossing over.
  5. A dying person might say that their deceased uncle is there to welcome them. Xian Sheng asked the followers if they had heard such stories before.
  6. He continued to explain that if the person close to death were to get up and walk towards these apparitions, they would pass away without realising it, as their soul would have walked out from their body.
  7. The other method is through Spiritual Meditation. In Baitiangong spiritual meditation, we free our minds from any thoughts, allowing our souls to leave our bodies and giving us the opportunity to see into other dimensions.
  8. Xian Sheng warned the followers never to conduct spiritual meditation on their own. They can only do so in sessions conducted by appointed or anointed followers. This is because these facilitators can provide a protective barrier while the soul travels out for a brief period of time.
(D) Can a roaming soul harm a living person? Are they responsible for sleep paralysis?
  1. There are deceased individuals who do not realise that they have died. There are also deceased individuals who are aware of their death but refuse to leave. They would only leave on their own accord after passing on a message. They would refuse to leave until they have passed on their message as they still have ties to the living. This film attempts to convey this concept.
  2. Sister Lim Siew Hue inquired about the capability of a roaming soul to cause harm to a living person. Xian Sheng explained that, in general, a roaming soul is incapable of intentionally harming a living person because it is an incorporeal entity, and their incorporeal hands would simply pass through a person’s physical body.
  3. Nevertheless, Xian Sheng pointed out that we cannot explicitly state that it is entirely impossible, as there are instances where roaming souls have lingered on the plane of Earth for so long that they have developed the ability to manipulate their atomic structure, allowing them to become tangible and engaged in physical interactions with the living.
  4. When asked if unexplained black and blue bruises appearing on our bodies were caused by roaming souls hitting us, Xian Sheng responded that they could be the result of accidental bumps, knocks, or kicking while sleeping. However, Xian Sheng noted that it is impossible to completely rule out the possibility that roaming souls might be responsible for the bruises.
  5. Xian Sheng asked if the followers had heard of “sleep paralysis,” where people often feel a weight or pressure on their chest as if someone is pressing them down. A few followers acknowledged having such experiences themselves. Xian Sheng admitted that he had also experienced it when he was spent the night at his friend’s house off-Pudu area.
  6. Sister Lim Siew Hue asked about the power of roaming souls to press down on a person while they are sleeping. Xian Sheng explained that while some roaming souls may have a desire to harm individuals, they are unable to do so physically.
  7. Xian Sheng explained that the roaming soul is pressing on our soul, not our physical bodies. As a result, our soul is unable to move, which translates into our bodies feeling the pressure and being unable to move as well.
  8. Xian Sheng advised followers to relax and try to talk to the roaming soul if they were to encounter such a situation. Sister Chan Saw Wan confirmed that the roaming soul would indeed leave, as she had experienced it too.
  9. Xian Sheng asked if the followers remembered the incident he had told them about spending a night at his friend’s haunted house near the Pudu area. After a young lady entered the living room, where Xian Sheng and his friends were playing mahjong and started singing, Xian Sheng decided to go into the haunted room to sleep.
  10. That was when his experience began. The roaming soul started pressing down on Xian Sheng while he was sleeping. Xian Sheng knew a roaming soul was pressing down on him and told it that he was not afraid. He then relaxed his entire body to the point where his soul left his body.
  11. Xian Sheng described the encounter where his soul was seated opposite the roaming soul at a table, engaged in a negotiation. The negotiation became so intense that the roaming soul turned violent and kicked the table. Xian Sheng fought with the roaming soul throughout the night until they were both exhausted. In the end, Xian Sheng resorted to biting its neck and refused to release his bite until its neck was almost severed. Then, like in a movie, the roaming soul suddenly transformed into a puff of smoke and entered a nearby flower pot, bringing the intense encounter to an end.
  12. When Xian Sheng woke up the following morning, drenched in sweat from head to toe, he saw a cactus plant on the left side of his bed. He told his friend that the cactus plant was the culprit, as it housed the roaming soul, and instructed them to remove it and place it outside the house.
It started to rain shortly after the cactus plant was placed outside the house, and a lightning strike hit the cactus plant, splitting the pot in two. The problem was resolved as the roaming soul never appeared again.
  13. Sister Wong Chew Peng asked Xian Sheng whether the lightning strike had collected the roaming soul and where it had disappeared. Xian Sheng replied that the lightning strike had possibly forced the roaming soul to leave the area.
  14. Xian Sheng explained that people who do not realise would say that Heaven had collected the roaming soul. The lightning strike splitting the flower pot into two served as a warning to the roaming soul to leave the area and never to return.
  15. Xian Sheng explained that nature might have an affinity with him, which caused the lightning to strike and split the cactus plant pot in two, preventing the roaming soul from occupying it again. Nature acted according to Xian Sheng’s will.
(E) Xian Sheng could have died not just once, but twice, in March 2000.
  1. Xian Sheng recalled his recent trip to Ipoh, where his motorcycle encountered a puncture along the way. What caused Xian Sheng to stop his motorcycle was a feeling of incredulity. Xian Sheng felt incredulous that he could not catch up to the Fiat despite travelling at 160 km/h for such a long duration.
  2. This feeling prompted Xian Sheng to stop by the highway just after the Tapah R&R. As he slowed down, he felt something was wrong with his steering, which led him to realise that his back tyre was punctured.
  3. This feeling, akin to a sixth sense, prompted him to stop his motorcycle and discover that his tyre was punctured. The tyre punctured at the exact moment he stopped.
  4. Xian Sheng enquired, “What would have happened if I had continued driving at 160 km/h?” He believed it would have been impossible to control his heavy motorcycle with a flat tyre at that speed. If there had been any vehicles nearby, he would have crashed into them and perished on the spot.
  5. Xian Sheng had a similar experience when he rode his motorcycle to Seremban. He had decided to drive only to Seremban and return home, instead of continuing all the way to Malacca.
  6. Xian Sheng was travelling at such high speeds that he overtook all the motorcycles in the convoy. As he neared the Seremban toll, he slowed down. Xian Sheng mentioned that at times he would make impulsive decisions, such as continuing to follow the convoy and driving to Malacca. A return trip from Malacca is relatively short for a motorcycle compared to a car.
  7. Fortunately, Xian Sheng stuck to his initial planning and stopped at Seremban, where he encountered a puncture, and his tyre immediately went flat.
  8. If it were any ordinary person driving Xian Sheng’s motorcycle, they would be finished (direct translation for the Malay word “habis”) if they had a puncture while driving at 160 km/h to Malacca, as it would be impossible to control the vehicle.
  9. When Xian Sheng reached home after his ordeal in Seremban, the general expectation should have been relief, gratitude, and joy in seeing him make it home safely. This is typically the general feeling one would expect upon seeing their loved ones return home safely. However, in Xian Sheng’s case, the situation was conflicting as he was greeted with anger instead. He had no idea about the reason for this hostility from Sister Elaine Hue.
  10. Xian Sheng asked whether Sister Elaine Hue would be happier if they were to return his corpse to her. He believed she would indeed be happier at that sight. He inquired whether she should be happy to see him alive instead of seeing his corpse. He proceeded to say that some people failed to understand that they should be happy when their family members return home safely.
(F) What would a deceased soul do on the plane of Earth?
  1. Bro Woo Kwai Moon asked Xian Sheng what a deceased soul would do if they did not realise they had died. Xian Sheng replied that they would continue to live their life as a normal person would.
  2. To another question about whether they could eat any food, Xian Sheng replied that they would not be able to eat, which would slowly make them realise that something is not right.
  3. To a subsequent question about no one responding to them, Xian Sheng said that these situations would slowly lead them to realise they had died, as they could not do anything and everyone they interacted with would not respond.
  4. Sister Chan Saw Wan asked whether they would be fearful about their situation. Xian Sheng agreed with another sister who said that the deceased soul would feel more curious than fearful. They would not be fearful as they would not see any problems with themselves.
  5. Brother Woo Kwai Moon asked whether they had forgotten the accident that caused their demise. Xian Sheng gave the example of Sister Lee Lee, who had no recollection of the accident that killed her and continued to take the bus to the General Hospital (GH).
  6. Sister Lee Lee’s soul went to the General Hospital (GH) to meet Sister Lai Choo. Xian Sheng said her soul might have given Sister Lai Choo a consciousness to realise that the earlier accident on the MRR2 highway could have involved Sister Lee Lee, as she was not at the GH as promised. Xian Sheng reiterated that Sister Lee Lee was unaware she had died at the accident site and continued to take the bus to meet Sister Lai Choo at the GH. As far as Sister Lee Lee was concerned, it was just another normal day for her.
  7. The followers asked how Sister Lee Lee deals with the situation on the bus, where she has to pay the bus fare and find a seat. Xian Sheng replied that she would be curious why she gets to ride the bus for free. A follower mentioned that she just needed to deposit coins into the fare box next to the bus driver. Xian Sheng added that she would naturally deposit coins into the fare box and then look for a seat. If there were no seats available, she would stand on the bus.
  8. Sister Chan Saw Wan asked why her dying uncle, lying on the hospital bed, saw the guardians of the underworld, namely Ox-Head and Horse-Face, with human bodies trying to drag him away. Xian Sheng explained that his uncle believed in these Chinese mythological figures of hell guardians and the underworld (Diyu), and therefore these figures haunted him in his visions. It was entirely his own creation because of his belief in them.
  9. Sister Chan Saw Wan posed another question. Her elder sister, who had undergone surgery and was recovering from anaesthesia, saw their deceased aunt. The apparition that resembled their aunt beckoned her sister to come closer. Upon realising that her aunt was deceased, she had a panic attack and immediately woke up. Xian Sheng replied that what she saw was real and indicated that she was not ready to depart yet. If her sister had moved towards the apparition, she would have passed away.
  10. Sister Chan Saw Wan then asked how her sister knew she had passed away since Xian Sheng mentioned that many deceased souls are unaware that they have passed away. Xian Sheng responded that the difference lies in her sister’s body still being alive, compared to deceased souls whose bodies are clinically dead.
