(A) Xian Sheng’s maternal uncle is his father’s brother.
  1. On the topic of cloning, Xian Sheng decided that the Baitiangong Spiritual Movement does not accept the cloning of human beings. We also discourage artificial insemination where a fertile woman goes to a sperm bank to obtain donor sperm for the purpose of becoming pregnant.
  2. Xian Sheng explained the issue faced by his extended family that his paternal aunt had informed him about many years ago. Xian Sheng’s paternal grandmother’s surname was Chung Ah Thye. (Note: Xian Sheng mistakenly said that his maternal grandaunt’s surname was Chung, as she was known as Mrs. Chung, following the common practice of wives taking their husband’s surname.)
  3. Xian Sheng’s aunt told him that Chai Sook was his father’s biological brother. Many years have since passed, and all the elderly relatives from his extended family, including his aunt, have passed away.
  4. Xian Sheng asked Chai Sook’s wife (his maternal aunt-in-law) whether she knew that her husband was Xian Sheng’s father’s younger biological brother. The conundrum faced by Xian Sheng was that Chai Sook’s children carry the surname Chung. This conundrum prompted Xian Sheng to talk to her. She finally realised why Xian Sheng’s aunt and her husband were so close. Xian Sheng explained that they were close because they were practically siblings from the same father. Chai Sook is the youngest brother among the siblings.
  5. The problem that arises is that her two sons’ surname is Chung. Actually, their surname should be Chew. Xian Sheng proposed that she ask both her sons to join her in meeting with him so that he can reveal the truth to them.
  6. Xian Sheng asked whether the followers found the whole situation problematic. The son of Xian Sheng’s maternal grandaunt is his father’s brother or his aunt’s brother. He was given to her at a young age to be her son. This truth was only revealed to Xian Sheng by his aunt because they share a very close familial relationship.
  7. When it comes to ancestor worship, the sons of Chai Sook carry the surname Chung instead of Chew and would therefore be worshipping the wrong ancestors.
  8. However, the real problem arises when the sons somehow marry their first cousins, as they technically share the same surname, Chew. They are very close-blood relatives because they share the same grandfather. Since their real surname is Chew, this would create a very unideal situation regarding marriages and even ancestor worship.
  9. Xian Sheng told his aunt-in-law very frankly that he could not honour this secret anymore, although his aunt had told him not to reveal it to anyone. The reason given by Xian Sheng is that they pray to the CREATOR (sworn to uphold the truth.)
  10. Back to the topic of ancestor worship, the predicament of Xian Sheng’s extended family shows the potential problems of Chinese ancestor worship. Whenever anyone speaks about venerating their ancestors by worshipping them, they may not even know who their actual biological ancestors are, since a single break in the family lineage by one generation can cut off their ties to their real ancestral line. In the case of Chai Sook’s sons, they would never have known of their Chew heritage if Xian Sheng did not reveal it.
  11. Xian Sheng believed that it was right to finally disclose the truth and seek the opinion of the followers. He explained that it’s the right course of action as all the elderly, including his aunt who told him not to reveal the truth, are now deceased, with the exception of Xian Sheng’s father. Xian Sheng told his aunt-in-law that the time to reveal the truth had come, and she should ask both her sons to meet with him so that he could reveal what he knew to them too. It would be entirely up to them whether they would accept this truth or not.
  12. Xian Sheng does not believe that his aunt would lie to him about this matter. Among his two brothers, Xian Sheng was closer to his extended family than them. That is the reason why the genealogy book (Jiapu/家譜) was handed down to Xian Sheng instead of his two elder brothers. The genealogy book helped Xian Sheng to have a better understanding of the family tree.
  13. Xian Sheng knew about the problem in his extended family before he started to teach Baitiangong. He asked how the followers would handle the matter if they were in his shoes.
  14. There are also instances where parents would adopt a child, and the child would take on the surname of their adopted father. Similar issues would face these children when they reach adulthood.
    Xian Sheng extended family
(B) Our earliest ancestors practiced incestuous relationships.
  1. If the children of Chai Sook were to have a sexual relationship with the family members of Xian Sheng, this would be considered incest, as both share the same surname.
  2. Bro Woo Kwai Moon asked Xian Sheng whether they would be committing a sin if they were married, as they were unaware of their lineage. Xian Sheng replied that they did not sin, following the Chinese proverb, “不知者不罪,” translated to “One who errs unknowingly is not sinful.” However, the undesirable outcome would be congenital birth defects and genetic disorders in their babies.
  3. Bro Woo Kwai Moon also enquired about those who were adopted but subsequently had incestuous relationships. Once again, Xian Sheng replied, stating, “不知者不罪.”
  4. Xian Sheng said that the most important consideration is that they must not share the same father. If both the man and woman share the same surname, ideally, they should not come from the same patrilineage. Nevertheless, after several generations, if those with the same surname from the same patrilineage decide to get married, there is nothing we can do about it.
  5. There are incidences of marriages where the couple share the same surnames. Xian Sheng mentioned that he knows a couple with the same surname, Lee. Both the wife and husband share the same surname, Lee. They married out of love, and this is acceptable. Nevertheless, there is a possibility that their children would suffer from abnormalities if they are unfortunate.
  6. Xian Sheng clarified that not all incestuous relationships lead to congenital defects. He explained that in the early centuries, people had always been practicing incestuous marriage relationships. The Chinese Emperor (Emperor Ming of Han or Liu Zhuang) issued edicts to prohibit incestuous marriages between people with the same surnames or close blood relations after witnessing, from past experiences, the potential abnormalities in their offspring.
  7. Bro Phuah Kim Yean attributed another good reason to the Baitiangong Spiritual Movement prohibiting the cloning of humans by stating that cloning further contributes to the complexities of ancestral lineage. When a family adopts a child, the child’s surname will change to their adopted father’s. Therefore, the adoption process alters their biological ancestry to their adopted parent’s ancestry. Cloning adds another layer of confusion to the already complicated layers of human relationships, which would create more problems for society.
  8. There are adopted individuals whose spouses share the same surname as them. However, since their adopted surname is not their actual biological father’s surname, they would be more fortunate if they were to marry. Xian Sheng said that the above scenario is real as there are such cases.
  9. Xian Sheng reiterated that one of his friends with the surname Lee married his wife with the same surname Lee. Both of them are not able to trace whether they share the same ancestral lineage. Nevertheless, they still marry out of love for each other.
  10. Xian Sheng stated that marriage between individuals with different surnames is fine. If anyone were to ask Xian Sheng whether it is acceptable for first cousins with different surnames to get married, Xian Sheng would say that it is acceptable. The most important criterion is that they do not share the same father. Xian Sheng reiterated that both of them must not share the same father. The paternal side is the deciding factor in marriages because males carry the sperm while females’ ovum receives the sperm. It is important to know that the sperm ensures the continuity of their lineage.
(C) Women are more privileged in Baitiangong compared to traditional Chinese culture.
  1. Xian Sheng emphasised that in the Baitiangong Spiritual Movement, wives are more privileged because they have the opportunity to pray for their own ancestors, unlike in traditional Chinese culture where wives typically adopt their husband’s family lineage and worship their ancestors. He reiterated that in Chinese ancestor worship traditions, families uphold an ancestral tablet displaying the husband’s lineage, which their wives would worship.
  2. This is why Xian Sheng said that in Baitiangong, wives are more privileged as they can pray for their own ancestors.
  3. Similarly, during traditional Chinese funeral rituals, only male family members, namely, the eldest son and grandson of the deceased, are allowed to perform the “擔幡買水,” which means “to shoulder a banner and buy water.”1
  4. Xian Sheng explained that practitioners of Chinese traditional religion (encompassing various beliefs and practices, including Confucianism, Taoism, Buddhism, and folk religion) have taken the wrong steps for thousands of years. For example, they prohibit women who are menstruating from praying or meditating.
  5. In the early days of Baitiangong, Xian Sheng informed them that menstrual cycles held no relevance in Baitiangong, and individuals were free to pray regardless of their menstrual status. There are no restrictions when it comes to praying to the CREATOR based on hygiene, impurity, or sickness.
  6. Xian Sheng recalled that during his early days of preaching, the women who attended did not dare to pray or sit down to meditate.
  7. Xian Sheng asked the followers to reflect on the absurdity during the early days of Baitiangong when the women did not even dare to pray. They kept asking Xian Sheng the same question for quite some time. Xian Sheng told them that they could pray as there were absolutely no reasons why they could not pray. They replied that they could not pray as they were dirty during their menstrual cycle.
  8. Xian Sheng mentioned in the past that there are many activities that are considered dirty. The moment they engage in those activities, they become dirty. He gave the example that men seeking prostitutes are even dirtier. Unfortunately, there are some women who say that their husbands seeking prostitutes is good.
(D) Germline gene therapy could result in the creation of monsters like Hitler.
  1. From the Baitiangong perspective, nothing is considered bad. However, people tend to perceive things negatively rather than positively. In reality, many things are good from Baitiangong’s perspective.2
  2. As for the bad aspects, Xian Sheng has made it clear to the followers what is bad, what is irrelevant, what we do not accept, and what we discourage.
  3. For example, in tonight’s spiritual discussion, we talked about human cloning, and Xian Sheng said that it is wrong and that we reject it.
  4. In the context of genetics, saying someone is “predisposed” to a condition means they have a higher likelihood of developing that condition due to their genetic makeup. Germline gene therapy is the process where specific genes are modified, removed, or inserted into the sperm or egg cells of parents to prevent harmful genes from being passed on to their offspring. This would enable a child predisposed to certain diseases to be free of any inheritable disease from both parents.
  5. However, the scientific community failed to realise the dangers that would arise from germline gene therapy. Although Xian Sheng knows that germline gene therapy is beneficial for ensuring that babies are free from their parents’ recessive diseases, he stated unambiguously that he does not accept this treatment.
  6. Xian Sheng asked the followers whether they remembered from earlier sermons where he stated that children growing up smart and disease-free is a good thing. It is not possible for Xian Sheng to say that growing up smart and healthy is not good for any child. However, he reiterated that he does not accept germline gene therapy to achieve this purpose. If others want it, they are free to accept the treatment.
  7. Xian Sheng reminded the followers of the Divine Law of Nature: humans are meant to experience the four stages of life, “birth, ageing, sickness from disease, and death.”
  8. A person who has undergone germline gene therapy should technically die of old age, free from any genetic diseases. However, this is not the case due to the Divine Law of Nature. The Divine Law of Nature dictates that humans must experience some form of disease in life. Xian Sheng warned of the danger that a new type of disease, previously unknown to humans, could emerge.
  9. Xian Sheng reiterated that a new form of disease would emerge in children who have undergone germline gene therapy to be free of any existing diseases in their genetic lineage.
  10. Individuals who are genetically enhanced to be extremely intelligent, could possibly contract a new brain disease. Xian Sheng said that this brain disease would be the most severe form of all diseases.
  11. Xian Sheng reminded the followers that he once mentioned Hitler. According to him, Hitler had a brain disease known as “Syphilis of the Mind.” It should actually be “Syphilis of the Brain,” but they used “Syphilis of the Mind” instead.
  12. Syphilis is commonly referred to as a severe sexually transmitted infection.
  13. Xian Sheng had mentioned that Hitler suffered from syphilis of the mind to the followers a long time ago. This brain disease is one of the reasons why Adolf Hitler ordered the mass gassing of Jews during the Holocaust. Millions of Jews were systematically murdered in these gas chambers, using carbon monoxide gas and Zyklon B, a hydrogen cyanide-based pesticide. The total number of Jews murdered using these gas chambers and other means is not less than six million.
  14. Xian Sheng went on to explain the tradition of reading out the names of Jews killed in the Holocaust. A radio station (possibly Radio Yad Vashem) took more than 10 years to read out the names of the 6 million Jews murdered. The radio broadcasted the names of Holocaust victims 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and the broadcast did not end until they read out all the names of the victims.3 Reference: Names of All 6 Million Jews Killed in Holocaust Being Read Out Loud on Upper West Side
  15. Xian Sheng asked if any followers had ever heard of this broadcast. He personally listened to the broadcast many years ago.
  16. Brother Woo Kwai Moon inquired whether a person afflicted with syphilis of the mind and who had committed multiple murders would be considered sinful. Xian Sheng replied that such individuals are indeed sinful, as syphilis of the mind, or more accurately syphilis of the brain, is an illness of the brain. It is not a psychological disorder like acute mania or schizophrenia.
  17. The illness of the brain that afflicted Hitler led him to believe he was part of the “master race.” He espoused the superiority of the Aryan race and only allowed individuals from his perceived superior race to interact closely with him.
  18. Xian Sheng stated that Jews are very smart and intelligent people. This is why Hitler committed genocide against the Jewish people, as they challenged his ideals of a superior race.
  19. Xian Sheng posed a question: If scientists were to continue tampering with human genes, such as with germline gene therapy, would we eventually create a monster similar to the likes of Hitler? Individuals with genetically modified traits would appear normal but are extremely intelligent. Nevertheless they would be abnormal as illness of the brain is also a form of abnormality.
  20. Sis Chan Saw Wan inquired whether they were capable of love and compassion. Xian Sheng responded, saying that they would only show love and compassion among their own race, that they love their wives and children very much, but would exterminate any other races that challenged their superiority. They prefer to be among people from their master race and would never allow any race as superior as them to survive and thrive.
  21. However, despite the discriminatory policies of the Nazis, they forced Jewish scientists to design the V-2 rockets (Vergeltungswaffe 2, or Vengeance Weapon 2). The predecessor known as V-1 was an early cruise missile unable to reach its intended targets in Europe. The V-2 rockets were the world’s first long-range guided ballistic missiles capable of reaching the United Kingdom.
  22. The Nazis were not able to fully deploy the V-2 rockets to attack European cities due to Allied forces bombing Nazi facilities, thereby deterring the launching of the V-2 rockets. The Allied forces were aware of the V-2’s capability to reach their cities in Europe. Xian Sheng reiterated that the technologies behind the V-2 rocket were created by Jewish scientists, not German scientists.
  23. That is why the Nazis killed the Jews who were of no use to them, as they did not want another race smarter than them. However, they kept the Jewish scientists and forced them to build their V-2 rockets.
  24. When American and Soviet forces defeated Nazi Germany, they captured and recruited Jewish scientists to help them develop their rocket technologies.
(E) The spiritual knowledge of Jews cannot be compared to that of Baitiangong followers.
  1. Xian Sheng provided a concise explanation of the 1948 Arab–Israeli War in the Middle East. Israel, despite being a small country, demonstrated its capability to defend itself against its larger surrounding neighbours. The Arab nations launched an attack against the newly established state of Israel, yet the Israelites managed to successfully defend themselves and even make territorial gains.
  2. Xian Sheng praised Moshe Dayan, the General with an eye patch, renowned for his exceptional military tactics that propelled the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) to triumph and facilitated the acquisition of new territories. His strategies involved outflanking enemies alongside frontal assaults, compelling their surrender.
  3. The Israelites eventually returned some of the occupied territories and signed a peace treaty with Egypt (Israel-Egypt Peace Treaty of 1979).
  4. Xian Sheng was uncertain about the specifics of a night-time rescue mission undertaken by the Israeli military, during which they liberated hostages taken by Arabs. This mission may have been the Entebbe raid. Xian Sheng once more commended the Jewish people for their innovative approach to operations, employing techniques never before seen in rescue missions.
  5. Some of the richest people in the US are Jews, and many wealthy individuals worldwide also belong to the Jewish community. Additionally, some of the largest banks are owned by Jews (such as Goldman Sachs, Rothschild & Co, and Lehman Brothers). Xian Sheng stated that the Jewish people have exceptional intellects.
  6. Despite excelling in various fields, Jews’ spiritual knowledge cannot be compared to that of Baitiangong followers. Nonetheless, they adhere to the ancient ways of praying to the CREATOR.
  7. The Jewish community practices various rites and rituals within Judaism. Many Jews hold superstitions, such as crying at the Wailing Wall in the old city of Jerusalem. However, numerous Jews approach the wall, touch it, and recite prayers while facing the stones.
  8. Xian Sheng explained that the religion of the Jewish people is known as Judaism, which was also the religion of Jesus Christ. They adhere to the Jewish tradition of circumcision on the eighth day after a boy’s birth. Additionally, boys are traditionally betrothed at the age of 13 (bar mitzvah).
(F) Jesus asked the people to pray to GOD, and not for people to pray to him as GOD.
  1. Jesus fled to India because he disliked being betrothed according to the traditional rites of that era.
  2. Jesus fled from Nazareth at the age of 13 and returned to Jerusalem at the age of 29. He also went to Tibet (Lhasa Monastery) and Hemis Monastery in Leh, Ladakh. Xian Sheng purposely followed all the routes that Jesus had taken in India. Xian Sheng stopped at all the locations where Jesus had travelled with the Buddhist monks.
  3. Xian Sheng said that Baitiangong followers are very fortunate to know the truth about Jesus’ missing years. He personally took a trip to India to verify the accounts of the authors who wrote about it.
  4. Xian Sheng is upset that he could not find the itinerary of his India trip that was faxed to him by Brother Daniel. He read out all the dates and locations from his itinerary during a meditation session. He wanted to know who he handed the itinerary to. Brother Woo Kwai Moon remembered Xian Sheng explaining his itinerary to India during the Annual Spiritual Discussion at Genting Highlands in December 1998.
  5. Xian Sheng said that the itinerary was important as it contained all the locations on the route that Jesus took during his missing years in India. Xian Sheng took the same route as well.
  6. Xian Sheng dared to state with certainty that Jesus did not tell the people not to pray to the CREATOR. Jesus asked the people to pray to GOD, and not to pray to him as GOD.
  7. Xian Sheng took the same route Jesus took, and he is delivering the same message that Jesus told. Jesus lived in Kashmir before making his journey back to Jerusalem at the age of 28 or 29. Many people do not have records of Jesus’ travels, but Baitiangong followers do.
  1. The "擔幡買水" ritual in traditional Chinese funerals involves two key actions: carrying a mourning banner and symbolically purchasing water.

    1. 擔幡 (dān fān): The eldest son or a close male relative carries a white banner in the funeral procession. This banner serves to guide the spirit of the deceased to the afterlife, symbolises mourning and respect, and offers protection from evil spirits.
    2. 買水 (mǎi shuǐ): This involves the symbolic act of buying water, representing purification and ensuring the deceased has water for their journey in the afterlife. It signifies the family's commitment to the deceased's well-being and their fulfilment of cultural and familial duties.

Overall, this ritual underscores respect for the deceased, the guiding of their spirit, and the provision of essential elements for their afterlife journey.

  2. Sex Related: Prostitution, legalisation of prostitution, Homosexuality, One-night stands, Promiscuous sex, Incest, Polyamory, open relationships, pornography, gender identity and expression.

General: Adoption by LGBTQ+ couples, capital punishment, death penalty, divorce, gambling, veganism and meat consumption, body modification (e.g., tattoos, piercings), censorship, animal rights activism, climate change policies, sex education in schools, gun ownership and control, multiculturalism and immigration, free speech on social media platforms, human rights interventions, social media influence on youth.

Genetics: Gene therapy, genetic engineering, cloning.

Health: Drug use (recreational), abortion, surrogacy, artificial insemination, in-vitro fertilisation, assisted suicide, euthanasia, cosmetic surgery.

  3. The tradition of reading out the names of Jews killed in the Holocaust began with the establishment of Yom HaShoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day, in Israel in 1951. This practice has since spread to communities around the world as a way to honour and remember the victims of the Holocaust.

The tradition of reading out the names of Jews killed in the Holocaust began in the 1980s. This practice, known as "Unto Every Person There Is a Name," was initiated by Yad Vashem, the World Holocaust Remembrance Center in Jerusalem. The goal is to remember the individual victims by name and to honour their memory. The reading of names often takes place on Yom HaShoah, Israel's Holocaust Remembrance Day, which falls in the spring, usually in April or May. This solemn commemoration has since spread globally, with similar ceremonies held in various countries and communities around the world.
